ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines Inc.(NHFPI) is a non stock, non profit voluntary organization committed to provide quality world class training and services on Natural Health, Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. NHFPI is accredited by Technical Education & Skills Development Authority (TESDA) recognized by Department of Health, Department of Tourism, Overseas Worker Welfare Administration and registered by the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency and an affiliated with the Philippine Hospital Association and Professional Association of Massage Therapists, Philippines Inc NHFPI is registered as such with the Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C) under Certificate of Registration No. CN2002251308 dated 17th July 2002 and registered with TESDA under Certificate of Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) Program Registration No. NTR0313020170 dated 26th day of August 2003. and registered with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency under Certificate Registration No. 2006-0046 dated 29th day of August 2006. As part of NHFPI educational activity and effort to upgrade capacities of complimentary and alternative medicine, NHFPI carries out conference, convention, awareness seminar, livelihood skills training, in-house training, workshop, outreach activity, medical and dental mission, humanitarian services, and symposia on local, regional and national levels in line with alternative health care delivery system. Most of the government agencies, LGU, NGO, and private institutions avail our humanitarian services in support with the Department of Health and Department of Tourism campaign program on Medical Tourism " Preventing Disease, Promoting Wellness". The community based program provided with our group is to promote natural healing thru reflexology, acupressure, shiatsu therapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, aromatherapy, spa therapy, thai massage, swedish massage, remedial massage, iridology and other manipulative therapy in line with Section 19 of the Republic Act No. 8423 ( " The Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act of 1997- TAMA). PHILOSOPHY: The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines is a voluntary organization committed to provide high quality training in natural health, science, education, research and conduct continuing education, and upgrade the standard of complimentary and alternative medicine into high level of competencies. NHFPI seek to enhance the students and alternative health care practitioners in their therapeutic skills and training methodology in the arts of natural healing and other allied services that compliments to mainstream medicine. MISSION: The mission of our organization is to educate the public the importance of traditional, natural and complimentary medicine that are safe, proven, cost effective, and consistent with government standards on health care practice and advocates a theory of comprehensive human development that is linked to its vision of peace and seek to enhance skills training in order to uphold the professional practice of complimentary and alternative medicine. VISION: The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines Inc. envision the total wellness and development of self directed and responsible professional, capable of functioning effectively in any setting in the field of natural and traditional medicine, science, education and research, that shall contribute towards the attainment of national and global unity between western and oriental medicine for better health, peace and progress. Also NHFPI has worked to increase awareness of health prevention in the promotion of traditional, complimentary and alternative medicine and engaged in community based-voluntary health services for the achievement of novel profession and create job opportunities for the sustainable community development . OBJECTIVES: 1. To provide quality world class training and develop educational skills program in complimentary and alternative medicine . 2. To promulgate and enforce thical standard, rules and regulation, policies and guidelines of the organization/ institution. 3. To provide information for the advancement of science, technology, ethics and arts on alternative health care through seminar, meetings, lecture, publication and other related materials. 4. To organize livelihood activity, awareness seminar, workshop, in-house training, outreach program, medical and dental mission , humanitarian services, research work, upgrade and develop continuing education for allied health professionals, health workers, students, researchers, and extension workers in the field of alternative medicine practices under RA 8423 and PD 856. 5. To provide scholarship to those interested in traditional, complimentary and alternative medicine. 6. To establish institutions, training center, wellness center, health spa and clinical resources that all shall facilitate quality technical learning skills. 7. Facilitate cooperation and understanding among alternative medical practitioners and other allied medical health profession, hospital services, companies, private and government institutions, LGU, NGO, local and international manufacturer/ industry and other agencies that interested in complimentary medicine. 8. To promote and advocate the use of traditional, complimentary and alternative health care modalities that have been proven, safe , cost effective and consistent with government standard on health care practices. 9. To professionalized, standardized and uplift the practice of complimentary and alternative health care practice into high level of performance and quality world class services which adjunct to national and global competitive standards. NATIONAL AWARDS: "The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines received the "2006 National Anvil Awards for Merit for the Institutional and Corporate Program in the category of Consumers Protection and Welfare" during the 41st National Anvil Awards of the Public Relation Society of the Philippines held at the Mabuhay Hall of the Manila Hotel on April 7, 2006 cited by former Senator Heherson Alvarez-Chairman of the Board of Judges of the Anvil Awards. Published in the national newspaper the" Manila Bulletin on April 24, 2006 and the Daily Tribune on April 23, 2006". "The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines Inc. received the national awards as "2006 Outstanding Alternative Medicine Institute" received from the National Consumers Affairs Foundation during the 23rd National Consumers Quality and Peoples Choice Awards cited by Gov. Justo ortis and Jonathan Navea-Chairman of NCAF on September 23, 2005. Published in the national newspaper the " Philippine Star on October 16, 2005 and the Manila Bulletin on October 18, 2005". NATIONAL EVENTS: ( Sea Games ) The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines together with the volunteers of Sports Massage Therapist promote the effectiveness of Sport Massage Therapy to Team -Philippines Athletes during the 23rd South East Asian Games ( SEA GAMES ) held at Manila on November 27- December 5, 2005. INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES: The Natural Health Foundation of the Philippines headed by Dr. Ronnie A. Royo N.D. represent the International Training on Korean Oriental Medicine and Indigenous Medical Science held at Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) Seoul, South Korea on July 8-22, 2004 organized by Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) of the Philippine government. TRAINING CONSULTANT: The training institution is headed by Dr. Ronnie A. Royo N.D.,M.D.(M.A). is an expert in Naturopath in the field of alternative medicine for almost 17 years of his practices. He received his Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Institute of Alternative Medicine, under Dr. Dhiren Gala of Mumbai, India in 2000 and another doctorate degree- Doctor of Medicina Alternative from the Open International University for Complimentary Medicine conferred by Prof. Dr. Sir. Anton Jayasuriya - Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2002. He Is the Past President of Philippine Alternative Medicine Association in 2002-2003 and currently President of natural Health Foundation of the Philippines and Professional Association of massage Therapists, Philippines inc.
